SES AI Unveils Molecular Universe to the Public for the First Time, Receives Strong Industry Interest

SES AI Corporation (“SES AI”) (NYSE: SES), a global leader in the development and manufacturing of AI-enhanced high-performance Li-Metal and Li-ion batteries, unveiled Molecular Universe MU-0, the Company’s groundbreaking battery material discovery software and service platform, in a highly anticipated demonstration that offered the public a firsthand look at how this innovative tool could shape the future of battery development.

Molecular Universe is designed as an advanced toolkit to map the entire realm of possible small molecules relevant to all battery chemistries, including Li-Metal, Li-ion and Sodium. The platform is an AI-augmented discovery suite that accelerates R&D by recommending new molecules to solve users’ real world problems, all through a map of molecular properties, a natural language based navigation system, and an intuitive interface.

“MU-0 is just the first release, but it is already being used by two OEM partners. We offer five tiers of access to meet a wide range of needs from research users up to Joint Development,” said Qichao Hu, Founder and CEO. “The Molecular Universe is an end-to-end service ranging from material discovery to cell manufacturing, and its benefits can be applied to all battery chemistries and all battery markets. Customers have been using and testing the database for a month now, and we’ve seen a tremendous early response to MU-0. The value proposition we have created is resonating throughout the battery industry and with OEMs.”

Pricing and Service Tiers:

  1. Research tier is free for anyone with an .edu email.
  2. Explorer is $150 per month per user with unlimited queries.
  3. Team is $1,000 per month for up to 10 users.
  4. Enterprise subscription offers access to 100 million molecules—100 times more than the first three tiers, and annual updates to both molecular property database and AI model. SES AI can custom compute properties, custom search for friends (molecules with similar properties) based on customized property priorities, and provide on-premises deployment.
  5. Joint Development tier includes everything in Enterprise, plus molecule synthesis, electrolyte formulation, battery construction, performance validation, and annual royalty in the event new discoveries are made.
