Frazier Healthcare Partners Announces New Structured Solutions Team

Frazier Healthcare Partners, a private capital firm focused exclusively on the healthcare industry, is pleased to announce the launch of Frazier Healthcare Structured Solutions, a new investment vertical at the firm focused on providing flexible capital to lower middle market healthcare companies. This initiative is designed to complement the private equity flagship strategy and provide attractive risk-adjusted returns for investors.

The team will include J.P. Michael (as a General Partner), Douglas Hollenbeck (as a Partner), and Hannah Maatallah (as a Vice President). They collectively have over 45 years of lending experience.

About J.P. Michael: Mr. Michael is joining the Frazier Healthcare Structured Solutions team as a General Partner after he spent over five years with SVB Capital and its predecessor funds at WestRiver Group. He served as Senior Managing Director, focusing on leverage buyout, growth capital, and venture debt lending to healthcare and technology companies. He was also a member of the fund’s investment committee for five years. Before SVB Capital and WestRiver Group, Mr. Michael spent over 20 years with Comerica Bank, most recently as Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of Comerica’s Technology and Life Sciences Division in the Northwest and Canada. He also served as the National Director of Healthcare Sponsor Coverage for Comerica Bank. Mr. Michael began his career with Deloitte & Touche as an auditor, moving on to Services Group of America, then Savia International, and finally Trillium Corporation, before joining Comerica Bank in 1998.

About Douglas Hollenbeck: Mr. Hollenbeck is joining as a Partner on the Frazier Healthcare Structured Solutions team. Mr. Hollenbeck previously spent five years with SVB Capital and its predecessor funds at WestRiver Group, where he most recently was a Managing Director of their private credit funds, focusing on leverage buyout, growth capital, and venture debt lending to healthcare and technology companies. Before his time at SVB Capital and WestRiver Group, Mr. Hollenbeck spent over eight years in Comerica Bank’s technology and life sciences division, focusing on lending to venture capital and private equity-backed companies in a number of different sectors.

About Hannah Maatallah: Ms. Maatallah is joining as Vice President of the Frazier Healthcare Structured Solutions team. Previously, she spent two years as a Vice President at SVB Capital, providing debt financing solutions to private equity and venture capital-backed healthcare and technology companies. Prior to this, Ms. Maatallah was an Associate at Silicon Valley Bank for over three years, focusing predominantly on venture debt opportunities in the biotechnology and diagnostics market.
